Applications of the Igniting Art Dreams Scholarship are now open
Dear students and alumni,
In the world of art, everyone who strives for their dreams shines. To support the art development of students and alumni, the Igniting Art Dreams Scholarship is established with the donation of a generous staff member of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, aimed to encourage students to pursue their artistic aspirations, support alumni to strive for higher art achievements, and uphold the fine tradition of charity and gratitude at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. Applications are now open.
Introduction
The Igniting Art Dreams Scholarship is granted based on application submissions. It consists of the Outstanding Student Award and the Distinguished Alumni Award.
Outstanding Student Award： Applicants must be full-time students enrolled at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. This award supports:
Students who possess original artworks with unique and novel designs and require financial support to implement their projects, or those in need of financial assistance to participate in art competitions, exhibitions, and other art-related activities;
Students who intend to apply for master’s or doctoral programs to further their studies at top art institutions.
Distinguished Alumni Award：Applicants must be alumni of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen and have entered the field of art after graduation. It offers financial support to distinguished alumni at the beginning stage of their careers, helping them to continue pursuing their artistic dreams.
Selection Criteria
I. Outstanding Student Award
Applicants must demonstrate exemplary conduct during their studies at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen.
Applicants must meet one of the following conditions:
a. Demonstrate exceptional artistic talent and innovative spirit, supported by original creative works (e.g., drafts, project proposals, activity profiles, competition certificates, reference letters).
b. Demonstrate potential for pursuing higher degrees at world-top 100 art institutions, supported by portfolios, admission application materials, recommendation letters, and personal statements.
II. Distinguished Alumni Award
Applicants must demonstrate exemplary conduct during their studies at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen.
Currently employed in art institutions or work in art-related fields, supported by materials demonstrating achievements and influence (e.g., project participation records, original artworks).
Requirement for Awardees:
Recipients of both awards must engage with local or international art institutions through internships, project collaborations, or other forms approved by the Scholarship Committee.
Number of Recipients and Reward Criteria
1-2 awardees per category, subject to the quality and quantity of annual applications. Awards may not be granted if no qualified candidates are identified.
Award Amount: RMB 10,000 per recipient for both categories.
Eligibility: Each applicant may receive only one award per category (lifetime limit). Unsuccessful applicants may reapply in subsequent cycles.
Application Procedure
Deadline: Submit applications by April 30, 2025. Send completed forms and supporting documents to: foundation@cuhk.edu.cn.
Review Process: Applications will be evaluated by the Igniting Art Dreams Scholarship Committee. Results will be announced on the Education Foundation’s official website.
Scholarship Disbursement: Awardees will be notified individually by the Education Foundation regarding disbursement details.
